A palworld breeding calculator predicts which pal hatches when you breed two parents, using each pal’s breeding power value. The tool covers 286 Pals and 80 special combinations, and it can also search for parent pairs that produce a pal you want.

How to use the Palworld breeding calculator
- Choose parent A and parent B.
- Read the predicted child and the closest alternatives.
- Or pick a target pal to list parent pairs that produce it.
- Confirm in game, as the formula is community-derived.
What formula does the Palworld breeding calculator use?
- Every pal has a hidden breeding power value; a lower value generally means a rarer, stronger pal
- Target = (power of parent A + power of parent B + 1) ÷ 2, rounded down, so a half rounds up
- Child = the pal whose breeding power is closest to the target
- Special combinations override this: certain pairs always produce a set pal, such as Mossanda with Grizzbolt giving Mossanda Lux
Pocketpair has not published the breeding formula. It comes from players reading the game data, so treat results as a guide and confirm in game, especially after updates that add pals or change values.
Palworld breeding calculator worked example
| Parent A | Parent B | Power A | Power B | Target | Child (tool) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lamball | Cattiva | 1470 | 1460 | 1465 | Cattiva |
| Foxparks | Lamball | 1380 | 1470 | 1425 | Lifmunk |
| Penking | Lamball | 1200 | 1470 | 1335 | Mau Cryst |
| Mossanda | Grizzbolt | 930 | 680 | special combo | Mossanda Lux |
| Vanwyrm | Foxcicle | 820 | 790 | special combo | Vanwyrm Cryst |
Lamball (3050) and Cattiva (2760) give a target of floor((3050 + 2760 + 1) / 2) = 2905; the closest eligible pal in the updated roster is used as the predicted child.
How breeding works in the game
- Build a Breeding Farm at your base and assign a male and a female pal.
- Put Cake in the farm’s box; each egg uses one Cake.
- Collect the egg and hatch it in an Egg Incubator. Larger and rarer eggs take longer to hatch.
- Children can inherit passive skills from either parent, which is how players breed pals with specific skills.
Finding parents for a target pal
The reverse search lists parent pairs whose average power lands closest to your target pal. Start with pals you already own and look for pairs with one strong and one weak parent; the average is what matters, not either parent on its own.
Limits of this tool
- Rounding and tie-breaking are not officially documented; community tools differ, so a pair at the edge between two pals may give the other one in game.
- Pals of the same species usually breed true, which the closest-power rule may not always reproduce.
- Data covers the pals listed in the tool; new pals from updates may be missing.
Planning a breeding chain
Rare pals often need several generations. Work backwards: pick the pal you want, find a pair that produces it, then check whether you own both parents. If not, repeat the search for the missing parent. Use the Palworld breeding calculator at each step and note the pairs so you can set up several farms at once. Breeding also takes time and Cake, so it pays to aim for parents that already carry the passive skills you want to pass on, rather than trying to fix skills in later generations.
Estimates for planning only. Check important figures with an official source or a qualified professional.
Practical breeding tips
A few habits make breeding faster. Keep a small stock of Cake so the farm never sits idle, and put the pair you want in the farm before you leave the base for a long trip. Hatch eggs in an incubator with heat or cold protection if the egg type needs it, as this shortens hatching. Label boxes for each breeding project so you do not lose track of which pals carry the passive skills you want.
When the Palworld breeding calculator shows two possible children with nearly equal power, try the pair in game before planning a long chain around it, since rounding and tie rules are not officially documented. Once you have confirmed a pair, note it down; the Palworld breeding calculator is quickest when you already know which pals you own.
