Engineering Converters
Engineering converters handle mechanical units that come up in design, maintenance and coursework. The torque unit converter switches between newton meters, pound-force feet and inches, and kilogram-force units, which helps when a spec sheet and a torque wrench disagree. The density converter covers kg/m³, g/cm³, lb/ft³ and more.
For motion, the acceleration converter includes standard gravity (g), and the angular velocity and angular acceleration converters move between rad/s, rpm and degrees per second. The specific volume converter handles the inverse of density, and the mass moment of inertia converter converts kg·m² to imperial units such as lb·ft² and lb·in².
Each page lists its units with their values in the SI base unit, a formula and a worked example. Check whether a source uses pound-mass or pound-force and whether rpm means revolutions or radians, since those mix-ups cause most conversion errors in engineering work.
