The survey acre
Older US land records used the US survey foot, slightly longer than the international foot. An acre measured in survey feet is about 4,046.873 m², roughly 0.016 m² more than the international acre. NIST deprecated the survey foot at the end of 2022, so new work uses the international acre. Use the square feet to acres converter for the reverse and the area converter for hectares.
Price per acre and hectares
Land is often priced per acre, but builders think in square feet. Land at $10,000 per acre costs about 23 cents per square foot, since an acre is 43,560 sq ft. A half-acre lot at that price is about 21,780 sq ft for $5,000.
