Radiology Converters

Radiology converters change radiation units between the SI system and the older units still found in many reports, manuals and textbooks. The absorbed dose converter switches between grays and rads, and the radioactivity converter covers becquerels and curies with their prefixes.

The radiation dose rate converter covers sievert and rem units, and the radiation exposure converter covers exposure units such as the roentgen and coulombs per kilogram.

Each page lists every supported unit with its SI value and a worked example. These are unit conversions only. Absorbed dose, equivalent dose and effective dose are different quantities, and moving between them needs weighting factors that depend on the radiation type and the tissue involved. Use the converters for study and paperwork checks, and follow your radiation safety officer, regulator or clinical physicist for any decision about exposure or protection.

Radiology Converters has 4 free converters, including Absorbed Dose Converter, Radiation Dose Rate Converter and Radiation Exposure Converter. Pick one below.
